A Little More About Me

I’m a British-Turkish voiceover artist with a background in linguistics and language teaching, bringing a strong instinct for how words should sound, feel, and connect. I work across commercial voiceover, corporate voiceover, and character-led projects, delivering performances that are clear, natural, and easy to engage with.

Over time, that foundation has evolved into a full-time career in voiceover, working with brands, agencies, and production teams across a wide range of content.

Alongside my work, I continue to train in acting, developing further into character and performance-led voiceover, and bringing greater depth and nuance into every read.

Voice

My voice sits in a mid-low range - smooth, warm, and engaging, with a natural sense of ease. I move comfortably between styles, from professional and authoritative corporate voiceover to more conversational commercial work, as well as character and narrative performance.

Whether it’s a brand film, explainer, advert, or scripted piece, the focus is always on keeping the delivery human, sincere, and easy to connect with.

Accent

I have a neutral, soft London British accent, making me a versatile choice for British voiceover projects. I’m equally at home with Received Pronunciation as I am with London and Estuary tones, adapting naturally depending on the brief.

As a bilingual voiceover artist, I also work in Turkish and in Turkish-accented English - an accent I grew up hearing and can deliver with authenticity across corporate, commercial, and character work.

Studio

I record from an acoustically treated home studio, delivering clean, broadcast-quality audio with a fast, reliable turnaround.

My setup includes a Sennheiser MK4 microphone, Audient iD4 interface, and Adobe Audition. I can work independently or connect for live, directed sessions depending on your preference.

How It All Started…

My journey into voiceover wasn’t exactly planned.

It all began in the early 2000s, amidst the bustle of Istanbul. One afternoon, while spending time at a radio station with a DJ friend, I was asked to lend my “seriously cool British accent” to a quick DJ ident. I happily obliged, and before I knew it, I had become - and still am - the voice of FG 98.3 & Lounge FM 96, an electronic music station and event group.

Back then, I was working as an English language teacher, and while I loved every voiceover opportunity that came my way, I knew very little about the industry.

Over the years, as I voiced corporate projects, commercials, museum audio guides, event promos and more, I slowly built a wealth of experience in the craft of voiceover.

For many years, I stayed rooted in education, pursuing a Master’s in Applied Linguistics and working as an English language specialist, teacher trainer, examiner, and consultant. After returning to the UK, I set up my own studio, recorded a demo reel, secured a UK agent, and began training more intensively in both English and Turkish - a turning point that helped me grow my passion project into a full-time career.

  • 1.Reach out and share your project

Reach out to me via the contact form here or via email lale@lalevoice.com and tell me everything you know about your project. These might include:

-Genre: Is it a corporate explainer, or narration, commercial, animation, video game, IVR or voicemail messages, e-Learning, audio guide, etc.?

-Length: How long is it? You can share the length of the script and/or the length of the final recording.

-Usage:Where will it be used? Will it be for internal use only or for public use? If it is public, will it be used at a conference, on your website, across digital media platforms? If it’s a commercial, will it be used organically or through paid promotions? Will it be on TV, cinema, radio and what will the audience size be and for how long and in which countries/territories? This is all important as it determines the cost of ‘usage’.

-How long will it be used? Will it be used on your website indefinitely or will it be a promotion for a limited period of time (e.g. 3, 6 , 12 months), or perhaps it will only be used once at an event? For commercial pieces, if you’re not sure how long it will be used for, we would usually start with a 1 year license and renew if needed.

-Budget: If you have a budget in mind or any budget limitations, it can be very helpful if you share them with me. I will always do my best to take them into consideration.

-Custom demo? If your script is ready and you would like a sample, just ask. Share any other assets you have too such as film/music even if it’s not final as it will help me deliver a better sample read.

    2. Quote & Custom Sample

I will come back to you with a quote according to the info you have provided. Any  custom sample will also be sent to help you decide if you want to go ahead.

    3. Agreement

Once we agree, I will send you a standard contract to sign and with that you can deliver any final assets (final script, film, music, timings) and instructions on how you would like the delivery to be. We will also agree on a timeline and how you want the files to be delivered to you (format, edited or raw). If you are not sure, just ask and I’ll go through the options.

    4. Record

I will record in my home studio. If you prefer to be present and direct me, we will arrange a session time. If not, I’ll record it within the timeframe we have agree on and send it back to you. (If you prefer me to come to your studio, I’m happy to do so).

    5. Revisions and wrap up

We work on any revisions needed until you are completely satisfied with the result. I then send you the files and invoice (to be paid in 30days*). *If it is the first time we are working together I usually ask for 50% of the payment upfront and 50% on receipt.

  • There are lots of factors that influence the price of a voiceover such as its length, where it will be used, by who and for how long, as well as what type of recording it is (e.g. a commercial is different to an e-learning project or a telephone answering message!).

The calculation is usually based on a Basic Studio Fee (BSF) which is somewhere between £200-£300. This is charged for the recording of the voiceover (remotely or in a studio) and any usage fee is added on top.

To calculate usage and adjust fees according to the project type, I use the industry rate card here.

  • I generally deliver audio within 24 hours, but this can vary according to the length of the script, my schedule and your needs!

  • I will usually send wav (48kHz / 24 bit) via wetransfer, smash or drop box. If you need them in another format (mp3) let me know. In terms of editing, I will usually tidy up the audio by taking out any mistakes, stumbles, noises (such as loud breaths and mouth clicks) and send you a clear RAW file. For shorter scripts I often deliver 2/3 versions and you can request how you want each version.

  • I record the following genres:

Corporate Voiceover (Corporate Explainer, Animations, Brand Film, Narrations)

    Commercial

    Video Game

    E-learning (Training video, educational materials)

    Narration

Radio (radio spots, station imaging, promos)

IVR/Telephone (Telephone messages, out of hours, on hold messages, Interactive Voice Response)

    Audiobook

    Audio-Drama

  • I work mostly in my natural accent (neutral British) and can vary deliver this easily between London/Estuary accent and RP. I can also deliver an international (American or European leaning) accent or Turkish/Middle Eastern accent. I can also work in General American.

While most of my work is in English, I also work in Turkish language
